•In the “More menu” in a project, “Import Bid File” will now be available.
•Once selected users will first be prompted to download and fill out an Excel Template, then to validate and upload the template to the project.
•User can easily add a new line item to a project that is already ongoing by using this feature.
Bid Import Validation Rules
The validation will run against the populated templated with the following rules:
- Task Name - This is the only required field (outside of the conditional check for quantity units)
- Duration - Must be numeric
- Duration Units -Defaulted to Days if none provided
- Estimated Quantity (Progress Estimate) - Must be Numeric
- Estimated Quantity Units - Required if Estimated Quantity has a value
- Cost Code - **Must be the Cost Code that is part of the Cost Code group applied on the project
- Cost Values- Will be populated as Total Cost Fields per category-Must be numeric
- Labor | Equipment | Material | General Cost | Subsidiary Cost | CAPEX Cost
Bid File Validation & Import-Success
- Once the template has been filled, click on “Import Bid File” again.
- Click “Select and Validate File” and choose the template filed that has been filled out.
- If the file name is correct, click “Validate File”.
- Once the file has been validated, the template should be available for import. (If not, the system will state the error)
When the import completes, a message will be prompted to refresh the project. This is needed to display the newly created task and budget items to the Front-End.
Once the refresh has completed, the tasks will be visible.
Bid File Validation & Import-Failure
If the validation fails, the user will be prompted with a failed validation error and an error count. The user may then choose to “Review Error Report”
This will provide details of the validation failures, associated messaging, as well as where in the file the issue is.
